DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE DISMISSED ON DAY OF TRIAL

A man was accused of domestic violence when he turned to the attorneys at Head Murphy Law for help. The team took a hard look at the evidence and determined that the accuser fabricated evidence prior to the police department’s arrival to the scene. Further investigation by Head Murphy Law revealed that the accuser had motive to accuse her husband of a crime to help her immigration status. The government made several generous plea offers, but none of them were a complete dismissal of the criminal charge. Head Murphy Law demanded the case be scheduled for trial. Leading up to trial, the attorneys at Head Murphy Law were forced to argue Constitutional law issues to protect their client’s rights. The attorneys also realized that the government failed to turn over all the evidence in its possession, so Head Murphy Law moved to exclude that evidence.

The court refused to allow that evidence to be shown to a jury, and, as a result, the government dismissed the charges against our client. This was the best possible outcome for a person charged with a crime that he did not commit.
